# Subscription calendars Publish events that others subscribe to in Google, Apple or Outlook. Source: https://docs.getridian.com/subscription-calendars/ Language: en Reviewed: 2026-11-01 A **subscription calendar** is a public calendar that others subscribe to in Google Calendar, Apple Calendar, Outlook or any other calendar app, for example your classes, workshops or match days. You keep the events in one place; new, changed and deleted events appear in your subscribers' calendars the next time their app checks. How often an app checks is up to the app. ## Getting started 1. **Choose a public name.** The subscribe page lives at `getridian.com//
/`. You choose the name once for your workspace, under **Scheduling > Settings** with **Choose name**. It also applies to your event types. 2. **Create a calendar.** Under **Publish > Subscription calendars** with **New subscription calendar**: name, description, time zone, default length of new events and language. Then choose **Create as test** or **Create live**. 3. **Add events.** With **New event** at the top of the calendar page. 4. **Share.** The **Share** tab has the subscribe page, the subscription address and the button for your website. ## Test and live A test calendar works like a live calendar but carries "[TEST]" in its name and does not count towards your plan. **Go live** removes the label; existing subscribers keep their subscription. The list heading shows how many live calendars and active subscriptions you are using; what your plan includes is listed on the [pricing page](https://getridian.com/pricing/). ## Events An event has a title, a start and an end, or is all-day. Optionally: - **Repeats:** daily, weekly, monthly or yearly, forever, a number of times or until a date. A series counts as one event. - **Location, link and description.** - **Reminder:** Apple Calendar shows it. Google Calendar does not take reminders from subscribed calendars. - **Status and show as:** confirmed, tentative or cancelled; free or busy. **How it appears in apps** in the editor shows how Google, Apple and Outlook display the event. Events that come in through the API are edited here the same way; custom repeat rules from the API are kept when you save. ## Sharing In the **Share** tab: - **Subscribe page:** a public page with the **Subscribe to calendar** button, which opens a menu of calendar apps, and optionally the next events. Each event there can be added to your own calendar on its own. The page loads no trackers and nothing from third parties. Visitors switch between light and dark at the bottom of the page. - **Subscription address for all apps:** to copy, for apps without their own link. - **Straight into an app:** links for Google Calendar, Apple Calendar and Outlook.com. - **Button for your website:** a code snippet that shows the same button with the app menu on your site. - **Address:** You change the part after your name here. The old address redirects for 90 days. ## Design In the **Design** tab: name, description, colour, language of the calendar and subscribe page, your website and organizer details. Upload logo and banner as PNG, JPEG or WebP (logo up to 512 KB, banner up to 2 MB); the upload does not accept SVG. Depending on your plan you can hide "Made with Ridian" below the subscribe page. Next to the fields you see the subscribe page the way visitors see it: mobile or desktop, light or dark. Changes show there right away and take effect once you **Save**. **Desktop** expands the preview to the right. ## Statistics The **Statistics** tab counts per app how many subscriptions were active in the last 14 days, how many were added in the last 30 days and how often someone picked an app. Active means the app fetched the calendar in the last 14 days. We only see subscribers as fetches, never as people. ## Who can do what All workspace members can see subscription calendars. Admins and owners can create, change and delete them. ## Reporting and blocking Every subscribe page has **Report page** at the bottom. We review every report. If a calendar breaks our rules we block it: the subscribe page is no longer available, the calendar stays empty for subscribers, and the owner gets an email with the reason. ## Deleting **Delete calendar** in the **More actions** menu (**…** at the top right) removes the calendar, its events and its statistics. Subscribers then see an empty calendar with a notice for 30 days, after which the subscription address returns nothing. The subscribe page address is free again right away.
